206 1999 GLX Full beam issue

Hi, my Daugther has this model and without warning the OS main beam has an issue, as well as the main beam the blue dash light has stopped working.

Symptoms - All side lights and head lamps work until you turn on the main beam, this then knocks the O/S head lamp out and the blue dash light is not on.

All fuses seem fine, changed the bulbs and it is still the same, so the bulb is not the issue, it seems more in depth.

Any ideas of what may be the problem?

Could be the column lighting switch ... I think the '99 has separate parts under the column shroud.
