206cc car mats - how to fit clips on them

Post by Namrood »

Hi all

I want to get some new mats for my cc. The current ones are ok, but he drivers on is looking a bit tired.

Now the mats in my car have to holes where I can clip them into place. I would like to use these as I find while driving the drivers mat slides up under the peddles and at times has jammed them.

The replacement mats I would like to get have the same holes (not going to get them in this colour)

I have checked my car and cannot find any holes for the clips to go in.

Does the 206cc have these types of fixtures for the carpet? When I have my mondeo I had to resort to using telco to hole the carpet down

I have the same problem. Driver's carpet has two holes at the rear edge, but there seems to be nothing to fix them to on the floor. Consequently the carpet creeps forward eventually jamming the accelerator pedal. I need to get some new ones, but not until I can find out how they are secured.

Hi. Similar problem here. Did either of you sort this? Our new (to us) 206cc has the original mats, but previous owner has lost the fixings, so the mat ends up under the pedals all the time. We've still got the posts fixed to the car that the holes in the mats line up with, but don't have the top bits that screw in.

Peugeot dealer says they are discontinued and no longer made.

Found these on eBay and bought them - don't fit. Completely different as too big. Could used generic fixings I guess, but shame to not use the original ones.

Hi Jamze,
Have not got any further with this, and still driving with my scruffy, worn out, moth-eaten, mud-coloured mats. Oh!, the joys of "information technology" - loads of reading, but no information! I'll leave it like that till next spring. With winter and an MOT looming, I think I will have more important things to worry about.

Check your "time" settings Luditus. Your last post timed at 10.33pm but I'm reading this at 10.20pm GMT. Are your settings on BST by any chance?

Thanks GrandadMonkey, I'll look into it. Puzzled as to why the post says 9:33pm and you say it was 10:33pm. (Should the post have not been 11:33pm?). I've just got a new PC and was told that it was clever enough to work out the correct time from the time zone via my IP address.
You are right, as I've just noticed it is still on BST.
Well done. (posted at 22:59 Central Luditus Time) :)

First post - so hello to everyone.

Just recently bought a 206cc for my wife. The carpet clips were missing and the mats in the car were cheap ones. Sorted it by ordering a car clip set off ebay.

I can't post a link, so search on ebay for: 1 Set UNIVERSAL CAR FLOOR MAT FIXING CLIPS / HOLDERS - VW, SEAT, AUDI, BMW, MB

The part with the 'self tapper' screws into the cars carpet.
The other two parts are fitted into the carpet mat.

Just buy your chosen carpets. I bought specific 'tailored' mats for the cc.
I then put the mats inplace and marked on them (with chalk) where I needed holes. (I was using the same holes the OE fittings were in)
I used a drill and wood bits (they have the point on them to make sure the drill stays in place).
I widened the holes until the clips would fit and then clipped them inplace.

This is the mats fitted and fastened down:

Oh, it seems I can't post a link to photobucket either so you will just have to imagine what they look like. I'm very pleased with them though. Quality mats and professional look with the clips fixing them inplace.
