hi, i have a 2006 . 206 16 16v. only done 33k.serviced as it should. it has a miss fire with fault codes p1336 p1339 p1340,
i can clear the codes, but they come back when starting the car. when running i get the cat fail and anti pollution notices on the dash.
i think 1336 is fail to read crank/cam sensor
1339 cylinder 3 intermittant miss fire ?
1340 cylinder 4 intermittant miss fire ?
i have replaced the crank sensor, made no difference.
plugs 3 and 4 next to gear box end are white when removed .
ordered a new coil pack , but suspecting it to be ecu failure
any ideas, test i can do ?
thanks in advance

Re: miss fire and fault codes
Seen those symtoms and codes with a blown head gasket or air leak. Try a compression test, then check around inlet for an air leak and let us know what you find.

Re: miss fire and fault codes
new coil pack has turned up ,fitted it and it cured code 1336 and 1340, still have a slight miss fire on cylinder 2, next to cam belt end, removed the plugs and this one was wet .still showing fault code 1339. new spark plugs fitted, still same fault. going. to check the new coil pack, then will report back ;-)

Re: miss fire and fault codes
tested the new coil pack, and its sparking on all cylinders. compression tested the engine, and no damm compression on cylinder 2 from cam belt end. nothing at all. no water in the oil, no oil in the water, no mechanical noises.
took the cam covers off,and using a screw driver tried to push the cam followers down, and they seem spring loaded so i dont think sticking valve. possibly burnt out valve ;-(.

Re: miss fire and fault codes
Hi
I am not sure if I have posted this correct. I took my car in for a service yesterday
206cc year 2003 1.6 100,000k on clock, it was misfiring and engine yellow light warning light coming on. The garage changed spark plugs, did full service, changed oil etc and it appeared to run ok when i left. However today it started misfiring again, so i returned to garage and they advised it is now showing code 1359 on diagnostic report, the garage are at a loss so i left it there and got the bus home as didnt want to take onto motorways or drive in heavy traffic. Can anyone help as to what this might be.
Yours hopefully Vicky

Re: miss fire and fault codes
Are you sure about that number? 13XX codes are ignition related. Probably coil pack faulty.
Cheers Col.

Re: miss fire and fault codes
hi firstly thanks for the response
that i the code the mechanic in the garage said it was, as when i was there he was struggling to find solution so i suggested i would look on this forum. If its a code commencing with 13 xx your advising its related to ignition :-), I will mention this to him tomorrow when i ring the garage (they had it attached to a pc/i pad type of thing). Back on the bus in the morning :-(.. will let you know how this pans out..
Kindest regards vicky
