Well quick update on this , i went to take it to a garage and the car broke down , and i have had it towed away to the peugeot garage cost me 50 pound and now they are saying to place it on the full diag programme they will need it to be starting and working so they have quoted me for a new fuel pump to get the car going 311 and then waver the diag cost to the find the electrical fault , is this a bad deal or is it worth going a head with please some advice would be great , like i said i'm a novice :PP

You will pay main dealer rates for parts and labour at Peugeot dealership. Why didn't you get it towed to the garage you were going to?
Bit suspicious saying it needs to be running to put it on diagnostics! How have they come to the conclusion it needs a fuel pump?

Dont these diagnostic have some sort of memory where they record the fault and time or are these cars to old for that.

Exactly. Faults are stored, and live data can be used to check Crank trigger sych, coil pack charge etc. Actuations can force things like fuel pump start, injector triggering etc: So why they want to put a pump on it before putting it on diagnostics is anyones guess.

i took it to the garage they actually helped me regarding getting it to the garage , by pushing it with me they placed it on the computer and said it could be a crank shaft sensor , but considering the electrical problem you have i would not want to place a 100 pound crank shaft + vat and charge me for computer 35 pound , so he said best place for it to go in the dealership. And dealership said it would cost me £311 to fit a new fuel pump since it looks the cause of the problem with starting , but i asked them will this be for sure the problem and car will start , they replied we can not be certain... What a joke!? and then once that is done car working they will then place on computer for free for a full diagnostics and find the course of the lights remaining on all the time. This is going to cost an arm and a leg , so i had to take another job just to think i can even begin to pay for the £311 that i already owe now since they are doing work and i can pay when pick up when its completely done and running wth normal acting lights HOPEFULLY it seems like it's all a risk on my part and nothing for them.

And regarding them giving a decision about fuel pump , WE CAN ONLY TRY CAN'T WE , The young girl who is my assistant , why can't i speak with the repairers someone with oil all over them , But guess that's a thing of the past since the garage i went to looked more like a show garage rather than a used one haha , They where moping up ect so clean makes me wonder what they actually do themselves.

id find a local idependant peugeot specailist find them more helpfull than main stealers

There is not many in my area , and most of the auto electricans and other places said to take it peugeot and they would not even look at it without charging me 70 pound for computer it's a joke my area Skelmersdale Lancashire
