Start with the fuses. Are they OK?

hi col,yea i have checked all fuses they are all okay, i was wondering if the windows not working is the same fault as the roof? or two seperate faults maybe. thanks :)

If the windows wont roll down it will stop the roof opening

All four windows drop before the roof is lifted. I would guess fix your window fault and then hopefuly the roof will open.

You may find a relay is involved but I'm not sure without checking wiring diagrams. Have you got a Haynes manual?
Cheers Col.

yes i have a haynes manual , i couldnt really make head nor tail of it, i kinda thought the roof fault was stopping the windows rather than vice versa, but i will check further next time im off work, i did read something about there being not so many relays on the car as the BSI unit does it all, so i wonder if the BSI would stop the all windows working? , my first step will be to check the wires coming out of the switch and then find where they go to from there.
thanks :)

a quick update, i tried the bsi reset without the window down, but by operating the door lock with a screwdriver (so the car 'thinks' its shut) that way i could still use the light switch, that didnt work.
i tested the window switch with a meter and all appears okay there, next i removed a door panel and as expected no live getting there, i then sourced a supposed good roof ecu, still no joy so next step will be a bsi unit,

Find someone with Peugeot Plant that can read the codes and look at the live data to see what is happening

That might mean a broken cable ....

But until you get the windows down that's a waste of time and money. And how do you know it's good if the windows don't drop, the roof won't work anyway!

As above ...

Get the car on PP2000 ... diagnostic designed for Peugeots ... a basic one isn't likely to see the roof controls and can't get into the BSI properly.
