How do you replace check straps?
Removed a pair from the scrapyard that involved undoing the 2 nuts and screw which enabled me to push them into the door area and wiggle them out of the gap between the door metalwork and window mechanism.
I cant see how its possible to fit them without possibly removing the window regulator?
Any tips?

Reverse of how you took them out. It's not too bad a job once you get into it.

When I undid them they dropped down and needed wiggling out.
There is no room to get my hand up to put them in place.

Tie a string onto old unit before removing and use that to pull the new one into place.

Re: How do you replace check straps?
Bit of string worked wonders.
Tied a bit to the bit that bolts to the car then undid the 2 10mm nuts and let the old one fall into the door and be wiggled out.
New one tied on in place of the old one and carefully pulled it back up. Bit more wiggling and maneuvering and it was back in hole and job done.
All in took about 20 min from start to finish.
