I fitted the same to my daughters CC (2001 pre-mux) and I'm sure that goes off with the ignition. Just wired it up as per instructions and voila. Has an annoying "remove the front" bleep/alarm as well ... (which can be disabled).

Wonder if the multiplex cars need the bsi resetting? Don't forget they will think the original pug radio is still fitted and react differently if it can't be seen ...

Mine is muxed and it doesnt react any differently to having a normal head unit, although it moaned about it when i hit it with pp2000 but ive "told" it the original radio is history.

Found out now that by just opening the door I can turn the stereo on, at my wits end now please help if you can :mad:

Thats because when you open the door it powers it up momentarily, its a courtesy feature. Its meant to be like that. Dont mess with it.

But I still have to turn it off manually or leave it to switch itself off after 3 mins, just want to be able to open the car, turn the ignition on and bingo it works then turn the car off and bingo it turns itself off?

Then you need to get the stalk adaptor i posted above, its for multiplexed cars only, pre plexed cars need a different one that connects directly to the stalk. With this my radio comes on with the ignition key (as long as it was left on befor) and goes off as soon as the key is turned off
