Roof down and setting alarm?

Post by leegsi »

Is it possible to set the alarm but not the ultrasonic sensors so the alarm doesnt go off when the roof is down?

Manual States internal protection is disabled if the roof is down. But also gives options for external only alarm:
1 turn off ignition,
2 within 10 secs press alarm button on dash ( near airbag deactivation switch)
3 get out and deadlock vehicle (remote key etc)

Or apparently just lock the car manually with the key instead of the remote; which according to the manual won't set the alarm at all.

I have tried pressing the button near airbag deactivation switch and using the remote to set the alarm but it still goes off.

At the moment I just lock with the key but would like some sort of protection.

Just a word of warning..............

Now and then a post comes up whereby someone has left their car with the roof down and it's been caught in a rain shower which has caused all sorts of problems.
Just be aware of this when you park it.
Cheers Col.

Press and hold switch until the alarm light comes on then set alarm/lock and deadlock.
