Door mirrors as rare as rocking horse poo

Post by ribs99 »

On my wifes 206cc the door mirror had seized in the past and someone has forced it in and broke it. Ordered one off ebay which looked the same (had the same Orange plug) but when it arrived it doesn't fit.

The one I have has a metal mount with Orange plug and has a slightly different panel to all the others listed on ebay.

I can only find new and second hand ones for £60+

Anyone got any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by panel. I did find, using a pattern part on a 206 hatchback, that the casting on the inside had a triangular fillet pointing inwards which should not have been there. Ground it off and all was well. Is that, perhaps, your problem?

If it didn't say that it was specifically for a cc then don't buy as ordinary 206 mirrors are a different size/shape. I have both types of car and have checked it out and even looked at "converting" the triangular bit but far too difficult/impossible to do

I got mine from FordPeugeot spares at romford. There are two types of electrical connections on the 206cc mirrors.
206cc 1.6 2002 Silver.
L200 2.4 Forlife (wifes)
CB 400/4 (garaged for 15 years)

Had my mirror broken on mine it's a 2001 model and the new mirrors don't fit, but Pugs sell what they call a conversion kit which fits between the mirror and mounting on the door, I just refused to pay the price and use black gaffer tape, it dose the trick but won't win him a beauty contests lol.

In the end I opted for a repair which I did by stripping the whole thing down and using a number of cable ties. Now it looks and works as good as new. Saved myself £60 :)
