Help Please High Beam Not Working

Post by Naboobollo1976 »

I really need some advice, I bought my Peugeot 206cc a couple of months ago and all seemed to be well.

Now high beam doesn't work, took it to the garage for a diagnosis test £45 and no fault came up so that was a waste of money

I'm now being told it needs further investigation and even if it needs a new stalk the Peugeot garage has to do this because it has to be set with the system. £490 plus vat

I really don't know what to do.

The fuses were checked and they were fine.

When you try to put the high beam on and you move the stalk down there is no click

Can you please send me some instructions to fix this or change the stalk

What else could it be? If changing the stalk doesn't work ?

The stalk is part of the com2000. So long as the car doesn't have ESP then you can change it your self.
Here's one I did earlier (where have I heard that before?) http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic ... 21&t=15749

Obviously check fuses and bulbs first. Does hi beam work with headlight flasher?
Cheers Col.

On Peugeots the dipswitch is a toggle switch. You pull it forward to toggle between main beam and dipped beam. You should never push the switch down away from you. Read your owners manual.

On some other cars, for example my VW Golf, you pull the dipswitch towards you for dipped beam, and push it away from you for main beam. However the Peugeot switch does not work like this.

Try it again as it should be operated, as I think you may have been doing it wrong.

I wonder if this worked for him? Probably too embarrassed to let us know....

No need to be though - I'm an OAP and I still make plenty of faux pas.
