Recently my dw8 peugeot 206 started to lose power when in lower revs climbing hill in slow traffic, if you were to put your foot down flat it would power up again or foot off pedal then straight back on it woulf come right again. It is intermittently happening.
Couple of times the car would mis fire on start up and wouldnt start again until i primed the fuel pump, although this has stopped happening recently.
And now around the same rpm as power loss between 1500 to 2000 i gets excessive diesel knock noise which goes when i either back off acceleration or floor it. The car seems fine once up past 2000 rpm.
Dodgy fuel pump? Would air in system create these symptons. ? Advanced timing......
I have seen forums of lucas pump the dw8 however i believe mine is delpi.....
Any help or suggestion welcome

Starting with history, when was fuel filter last changed?
Faulty injector, water in fuel, air in fuel or faulty pump could all cause this. What is the mileage?
Luckily, being mechanical inj, it will be easier and cheaper to fix than HDI

Fuel filter changed start of year when i changed glow plugs. 130,000 km when changed done close to 140,000 now.
