Peugeot 206cc 1.6L 2004 engine shakes

Hi guys
I recently got a pug for my partner and I discovered a noise coming from the engine and also I can sense that the engine is shaking a bit on idle like missfiring
No issues with performance. I ve changed spark plugs, oil, oil filter but didnt fix the issue
What else should I look for? the car has 85000kms

Coil pack, camshaft timing (if you don't know when the belt was changed, it's only sensible to change it anyway, and do the water pump at the same time).

What does the noise sound like?

Thanks buddy for this. how can I check the coil pack? Using a multimeter? And unfortunately I dont know when the timing belt has changed so I have to check that
The sound sounds like a ticking but a bit loud. (I am not talking about the injectors) I can upload a video later
As for the "shattering" was just a typo which I edited :-)

I don't know how to test the coil pack - I think most people just fit a substitute. The best thing is to use Peugeot Planet to check for faults.

The ticking could be a hydraulic tappet. My engine always ticks on start-up, but after a few miles the tappet has pumped up and the tick is gone. They can develop a sticky glaze which stops them working correctly. The best cure I know is to use a fully synthetic oil (did you use one?)- it may take quite a bit of running, though.

Yes I used fully synthetic oil. I changed the oil on Sunday so its 2 days only.
Can you please tell me more about the Peugeot planet?

Bosch platinum but the noise was doing it from before

If you had a misfire it would throw up the MIL light.
The noise you have have from the engine could be a frayed timing belt, a burnt valve, tracking plug or an exhaust leak.
A burnt valve could give the issues you have

Not sure off hand, but probably around 180-190.
Just measure them all, if you have a burnt valve, it will be a lot lower than the others, maybe 80-90 which isn't enough to stop it firing, but you will have reduced power from that cylinder, hence engine imbalance which would cause shaking

When you do compression tests, do you just unplug the coil pack or are there other steps you ahould take?
