Central locking problems

Post by S1000rr »

Hi all

Hopefully an easy fix
I have problems with the central locking when using the key manually
it will work and lock both doors no matter what side I lock it from

When using the buttons to open or lock it works now and again

I have replaced the battery in the fob as well

Also is it normal every time you open the door to get a beeping noise

206cc 2003 2.0se

Thanks

It's probably the microswitches on the module inside the key fob. You can get a replacement kit on EBay. You need to be good at soldering.

Word of warning - there is a separate transponder mounted in the fob - it's small and black. Do not throw it away, or you will be looking for a complete new fob, to be programmed with Peugeot Planet, and requiring the four character key code (which you may or may not have). A dealer will charge maybe £120.

Beeps are normal if you have left the key in the ignition - they are to tell you to take it with you!

Where is the key when you open the door and it bleeps? How many bleeps?

Does this new fob take your original module? If so, I don't see that will help - the microswitches will still be dodgy.

That beeping is not normal - is there any thing on the MF display when that happens?

Not sure how many bleeps until tomorrow and the key is in my hand then soon as
you put in the ignition it stops no sure if the beeping would carry on if
i just sat there with the key in my hand if that makes sense
