Ticking noise from drivers side dashboard

Post by Bolton06 »

Please help me diagnose a problem with my 206cc Allure 2003. :?

A ticking/clicking sound is coming from inside my car, sounds like from behind the dashboard, it gets faster as I accelerate,, it comes and goes. I took it to a mechanic who said it could be something to do with the heater relay???? I don't know, what I do know is it is doing my head in, this noise does not seem to be coming from the engine, although the ticking increases when I put my foot on the pedal, increase in its speed and slightly hear it more. It happens when the heater is on or off?.
I'm pretty sure it's got to do with a sensor of some kind maybe a throttle sensor or something. How easy are these to be fixed, any help would be greatly appreciated.

May be something to do with the BSI which is by the drivers right knee. It has several relays built in and the only real way to diagnose it would be to do a global scan using PP2000. With this you can check all the individual aspects of the cars computerised systems

Thank you very much for your reply, I think that you are probably correct in this diagnosis, I will look into getting this checked. Thanks again. Mark Gordon

How do I get this checked out? Do I go to a garage and ask them to scan using a pp200? I would be grateful for your help. Thanks

PP2000 is Peugeots own diagnostics, so either a main dealer or someone with pirated copy.
