ABS sensor (maybe hub flang)

Post by Joe27 »

Hi all :)

my girlfriend just bought a 206 cc 1.6 and now have a abs fault on dash, took it to qwik fit for a diagnostic, the bloke said it was both rear sensors need replacing and maybe the hub flange looks like someone tryed to DIY it in the past but he wont know until he looks properly. he quoted 85 to 100 pound each for the sensors and 300 for the hub flange.

my question is does this sound right?

Probably for kwik-fit .. undoubtedly over-priced and probably needless parts ... on our Clio it was a broken ABS ring ..

get someone to look at it who actually knows what they are doing ..

Unlikely to be a broken ring as that year had magnetic ring type rather than relucter ring. Maybe had ealier axle or sensors fitted.
Cheers Col.

They suffer from rust where the sensor sits and moves the sensor away from the magnetic ring.

I just remove the sensor and scrape away the rust then refit the sensor.

You want a about a 2mm air gap between the sensor and the ring.
