engine wont turn over when turning key.

Hi can anyone help please, I removed the fuse box after disconnecting the battery on my Peugeot 206 cc to check behind for a loose or disconnected plug as roof and windows stopped working after checking for blown fuse, so now iv refitted the fuse box but now when you turn the key to start the car nothing happens apart from a clicking sound from the fuse box ( windows and roof still don't work either ) any ideas please.

It could be the battery is nearly flat. What voltage across the terminals? Give it a charge and try again.

the car started fine before I disconnected battery and removed fusebox, but 10 mins later when I refitted fusebox and connected the battery I turned the key and nothing just a clicking from fuse box

would removing and refitting the fusebox cause this??

There is an outside chance that the way you disconnected the battery is to blame.

The correct way is here. Try it - it may help.

I forgot to say that it is a 2004 1.6 16v convertible if that helps in any way.

It means to check all the services, e.g. lights, radio, horn, wipers .... which work when the ignition is on.

ok i have tried the reboot several times with no luck when I get to the step were you turn side lights on and there is supposed to be a noise (bong) nothing but carried on with all the steps regardless still nothing happens apart from a clicking noise from the fuse box when I try to start the car I have also noticed like a high pitch noise which sounds like it is coming from the throttle body HELPPPPPPPP

Do you have a voltmeter/multimeter? If so, measure the volts across the battery terminals.

no but its a new battery and I have tried it on my sons car and it starts his no problem

there is another issue Ian I cant open windows that's why I took fusebox out of the car to start with but I close the lock so that it thinks the car door is closed that's the only way I could do reset
