Vibration with exhaust blow!!

Post by mahsiry »

Hello

i have a 2008 peugeot 206 4cyl 1.4l manual, there is vibration in my car with the exhaust blow.

I went to the workshop and he checked it by PT2000 software and there was no reading for oxygen sensor and other parameters that I don't remember.

he told me that he want to remove the engine head and change the head gasket and clean the pistons!!

I felt he try to guess the problem and he wasn't sure what is the problem.

please advice.

I agree with Gazza, I dont see much justification for head removal from what you've said; unless he picked up something else in the other parameters you don't remember. You'd want further diagnostic work, like compression testing to confirm one of the cylinders was down on pressure, before removing the head. Sounds like he just wanted a big job to get some cash.

As Gazza says, fix the exhaust first.

You have to go Sherlock Holmes on it; eliminate the probable. Then, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, is your answer.

Start with the obvious and go from there. Good luck.
