Which Haynes manual for my car please.

Post by GazWaz »

Good Friday afternoon all,

The questions in the title but I have a 55 plate 1.6 petrol 206cc. It looks like there are 2 manuals for the 206. One for the 98-01(blue cover) and one for 51-59(black cover).

The black cover seems the obvious choice but in all the ebay write ups they mention the manual doesn't cover the 1.6 16valve engine.

I'm pretty sure my car must be 16valve as it's twin cam. Am I talking twaddle or am I missing something.

Please help.

Cheers

Gaz

The black cover book (4613) covers the 206cc, except for the 16 valve twin cam 1.6 litre engine, which is in the 207 manual!

Haynes is ok for routine things, but not much use for fault-finding. The best for that is the Peugeot Service Box Documentation and SEDRE (wiring manual). There are several ways to get it, but I recommend this one. It does not matter which car you choose, you get the full databases for all the listed cars.

It's a large download, so, if that's a problem, go for the disk option.

Unlike the versions on EBay, it is pre-installed, so there's no monkeying about with crack generators. The version you can access free online from Peugeot requires you to pay-to-view the documentation, and does not include the SEDRE.

We had an 05 plate 206cc 1.6 Allure. I used the black 206 Haynes manual 4613 for most jobs, and the red 207 manual 4787 as a reference only for the engine. My daughter had a Peugeot 207 which is why I bought the second manual.

Much appreciated all. I'll get the black one for now.

Hopeful I won't need to use either too much. Only had the car a week and absolutely loving it.

Cheers
