Hello,
My battery (recently changed) has been dying recently when I don't use the car for a few days, which has never happened to me with any other cars. I know the alternator might be at fault, but I also noticed the boot light switch is either very quick or the light is always on. I found the following thread, which mentioned the switch is MANUAL, so I'm wondering if this is the case?

Do you know if there is any way to check this?
Thanks!

Re: Boot light always on?
The boot light switch is allegedly a level switch, which closes when the lid is raised.
If you have a camera which can be triggered remotely, I suggest making it take a pic (without flash!) inside the boot after closing the lid. A black frame should prove that the light does go off.
Alternatively, if it does video, start taking the video of the interior, close the lid, then open it. Viewing the video should be conclusive.
Come to think of it, all you need is a smartphone.

Its a tilt switch that sits near to the brake light in the boot lid.
Have someone open the roof and look inside the boot when the lid opens,
as it tilts the opposite way like this there's no way it should be on.

In our car there is no tilt switch in the lid, but there is a double micro switch in the lock/catch. one of them does the light.. pin holding it may have slipped..

Tilt switch picture from the haynes manual.
The boot latch switch is for the alarm and the boot open light on the multi function display so if yours makes the light come on someones altered it significantly.
