without any skipping when one uses a good brand like Sony or Philips CDRs ?

The current CD player I have in my car skips once in a while on CDR's and doesn't read cheap CDR's.

Hi

I recently recorded to a CDR and had a lot of problems with skipping. The only way I found it to work was to copy at 1x speed.

Then again though the CD's I am using are cheap unbranded things, so that may be causing me problems also.

Regards

I use (branded) CDR's in mine without any problems. Haven't tried CDRW's yet.

Haven't had any problems with CD-Rs. I've recently ploughed through 42 CD-rs of the Harry Potter books.

It won't play CD-RWs which is hardly surprising since they use a different format and require a specially designed player.

CD-R and CR-RW's work perfectly in mine. Try Sony or Vivastar, they usually work best, the Vivastar use the lightest dye so work in most Cd players even my old samsung 709 dvd player!

I have no trouble with CD'R's in my CC (Factory stereo) and the majority of my music complilation is of recorded stuff!
Quite handy having a HUGE MP3 file at work and a cd burner to make your albums!
(uhoh now I have told you what I do all day!!!)

CD-Rs, CD-RWs.
Why some machine will plays CD-Rs and not CD-RWs. Many company uses cheap laser pickup. Can only pick up CD-Rs but not CD-RWs.

Lately, most CD players on the market will read CD-Rs. If you are lucky then CD-RWs as well.

eg. My 10 years old home CD player have no prob. with CD-RWs. My 3 years old mini system will not play CD-R/RWs at all. Just matter of luck.

My Factory unit has no problems with CDRs and CDRW shame my glovebox isn't big enough to store them all.

Real solution (to the space issue) is mp3, since over 200 tracks on a 'standard' Cd is easily acheivable. Does anyone have any experience of the various in Car mp3 (disk) players that are around? My home Pioneer dvd will play just about anything, I wondered if there was a 'favourite' cd/mp3 in car player?

I've got the Kenwood MP3 player (cant remember model) and I'd not go back to a normal CD player ever again...

No jumps/skips, 150 plus tunes to one CD and MP3 tags displayed.....

Lovely.

the best mp3 solution is the new sony changers that read mp3 cds
i just got one and i have about 1000 songs in the car with me!
they have it on car audio direct
i got mine from the states
you can even use it with an fm modulator meaning you can use it with any head unit
even the original peugeot one

There is a new Sony CD/MP3 player out that will take your CDs and convert them to MP3 and then store them in its built in huge hard disk. It will also play CDs, CDRs, CDR/W and MP3 disks in the standard way.

Shame I had just bought a new stereo.
