time slot - anyone ??????

Hi all,

Had my car booked in today at 'Dixons of mansfield' to have some more work done to the latches,again from the recall work from last dec 2001.

it was booked in for last thursday but got a phone call from them on wednesday saying that the master tech guy would be off tomorrow can i rebook it for next wednesday at '10.00am it'll take about 2 hours', which i did, now comes the 'Fun' part.

got there at about 9.50am to be told that another person was off and now the job would take till 4.00pm-5.00pm WTF, when i was told on the phone to bring it in at 10.00am this is just to get a 'WORK SLOT' so they can get round to working on it later !!!!!!

Asked if they had a courtesy car available, surpise surpise, NONE, 'Should have booked one' they said, I WOULD HAVE IF I KNEW IT WOULD THIS LONG.

the service manager, if you can call him that, said i should have told them i needed the car back at a certain time, again I WOULD HAVE IF WAS I TOLD I NEEDED A WORK SLOT, to any normal person 'bring it in at 10.00am it'll be about 2 hours' means they work on it a few minutes later NOT HOURS, so it's MY FAULT FOR NOT BEING A MIND READER.

Also asked them why didn't they phone to let me know how long it was going to be, 'i've got about 30 cars booked in, can't phone all of them up' - WHY NOT ??????

it's now booked in on august the 14th at 9.00am, they have now given me a free courtesy For that day, too right it's free !!!!!!

if your in the mansfield area steer clear of 'DIXONS OF MANSFIELD'

I had two experiences with Peugeot Parramatta, they don't like ringing customers and tell them your car would be ready in a later time. I got there one time at 12pm and actually left the building at 1.15pm.

Last Friday, I was told my courtesy is at Parramatta waiting for me at 5pm. I got there and I waited for another hour before I got my courtesy car.

lyndon,

that first day my CC went in last december that they mucked up annoyed me. you will remember from a copy of the letter i sent you at the time that instead of being 1 to 2 hours they wanted the car most of the day - after creating hell they suddenly found me a 106 Quicksilver.

remember when you have their courtesy car not to take any care with it as a payment for their poor service

Lyndon, why not book a time slot for yourself and take their courtesy car off road?

or don't give them their car back and when they phone looking for it just say they never gave you a time slot to return it

another thing i did with belmont peugeot (100% pure monkeys) after a few troubles was to take the keys for their courtesy car and when they ask you to return it by 5pm - say i will do that but if my car isn't properly repaired then you won't be getting your car back until it is - it did work

I have the Lancer for almost a week now. I will have it for another before I can pick up my CC.

Lyndon - I trawled through previous postings earlier to find out what the December recall entailed?

My car (Oct 01) was never recalled and I am now wondering if it was because it is a company car and the letter never got to me?

I am currently having trouble with the boot lid in that it is not locking after raising or lowering the roof (see separate posts in roof section) - is this one of the things covered by the recall

YES they need to replace part or all of the latches depends on the chassis number, pop into your pug dealer they should be able to tell you if yours needs doing on their computer.

It all depends when your was build as to wether you need yours doing, clearly you need something sorted out.

Hmm, well mines an Oct 01 registered car but never had any problems with the boot. As I've had no letter was wondering if I need to check with peugeot.
