Anyone insured their car with CDA of Wiltshire or thinking of doing so, be very very careful.

I am unable to say anymore than this for the time being as I have lodged an official complaint with the General Insurance Standards Council.

well i wouldn't recommend egg insure in a million years. i cancelled my policy with them in december when i got my CC as they wanted something like £180+ just to upgrade my policy for 4.5 months.

the refund took 3 letters and a few phone calls where a few years ago when i cancelled with eagle star - a refund cheque arrived within 2 days of cancellation.

Further to the post made about CDA (WILTSHIRE) Insurance. I am insured with CDA and know at least a dozen others who are also, and I for one would strongly disagree with the comment made by "dexter"...... just remember Im sure there are 2 sides to every story!

I've given up trying to get a refund out of AA Insurance Services. Their customer service stinks. If anyone wants to flame me for it I've got copies of all correspondence!

Insurance companies :- licenced con-merchants. How many times have you heard:

"Have you got a receipt for that 10 year old item"

"Do you have evidence of its value"

"We have to make a deduction for wear and tear"

"Sorry sir but [fill in item]] is explicitly excluded from your [home contents/car/motorcycle/holiday] policy"

All of these reasons for non payment or part payment of claims are only mentioned at the time of claim, NOT at the time of signing up and paying the (extortionate) premium.

If a Banker is a man who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining and asks for it back when it starts to rain, an insurance company is a bookie who takes your bet at 100:1 then welches when you win.

Rant over ('til next time  )

Rachel, when I bought Melanie a new Puma in 1999 the AA sales person said I could have a free Tracker system fitted by them.

When i got no info with the insurance docs I chased it and was told the offer had expored before I took the policy out.

I argued with them for 6 months and in the end they were forced to conceed and paid for the Tracker

hmmmm what a coincedence, pugsax has just joined today and his first ever post is about CDA of Wiltshire and how wonderful they are ?

Surely Pugsax you didnt join this forum simply to say how wonderful car insurance companies are ?

Mmmmm, seems rather suspicios to us, come on Pugsax show us who you really are.

Or we will all just presume you work for CDA........
