Ive just been told by the dealer that my car is being build on the 2nd August.

I wonder how long that will take to deliver... I also wonder if I can change my options, I think I want the sports pack, what do you think ?

It takes about 2 weeks for deliver, but may be a little late for adding extras. When i wanted to add leather they say said i had to cancel the original order and then re-order, So i declined. The sports pack makes a hell of a diffence to your car, and is a bargain for £100, but i doubt they can do it, but you never know

Humm, well the salesman that dealt with me has moved to another branch, but hes still dealing with his customers. They are going to pass on a message for him to ring me.

The guy I spoke to said id cant change the options. Ill ask again when I get a call back. Also seems it will take 10 days to arrive at the dealer ship after build.

Im thinking, should I wait until 1st sept for the new reg number. Arghhh, do poeple go for reg plates nowadays, and how much summer is left in september. !!!

How much summer is left in July? Its been sheeting down for 48 hours solid here in NE Germany...and my cellars flooded! Bugger.

If it's a matter of a couple of weeks, I'd wait until September for the new plates.

An even though reg plates change twice a year now, it will make some difference to the residuals.

Even though my car will be in at the dealers in mid August, I asked them to keep it to register it 1st September for residuals.

I would wait personally, but that's easy for me to say as i have my CC. It will (probably) affect the residual value of the car which for a wait of a few weeks can't be too bad can it? Besides you can rely on the support of the forum to see you through your traumatic waiting period. So, in summary, wait for a new plate...;)

i got my 1st one in december and like a lot of others had to wait 20 weeks so it isn't all bad

Don't worry Andrew, they don't often fall to bits, Derek's just speaking from bitter experience.
