Not office mates but maybe just both a little tired of the inane nature of many of the posts, and all by the same individuals. I used the forum for many things in the early days of owning the car, the majority of the posts were excellent and extremely useful. It now seems that the site has been taken over by a few, intent on using it as a social meeting place and not for the purpose I would think that it was initially set up. From the lack of substance recently, either people are having no issues, finding nothing interesting out - or have stayed away. I was a lurker but have now spoken out, just because myself and another individual agree on something and perhaps point out some individuals' shortfalls, and do not conform to the cliques set of rules then we are deemed 'partners in crime'. No, we just have similar views.
I personally frequent the forum for information and news, which is fast becoming hard to find due to the ever increasing number of moronic posts.

Isn't this the same gripe as on the 'maybe I'm a spoilsport' thread? and don't the same answers apply?
You can ignore the 'moronic' posts if they don't interest you, just as those who want to talk about more than just their car can ignore the 15th instance of 'which add-on doohickey gives the most mpg' if they want to
Personally I find the non car related posts far more entertaining (not informative but entertaining) than the technical ones. But then I have interests outside of just the 206 CC (great though it is
).
Maybe the best solution is what has already been suggested by many posters, split the discussions section into two:, CC-related and Non-CC related.
Lyndon why not give it a try? BTW if you do my bet is that the posts on the non-cc related section will outnumber the others about two to one
.
One final thought, I don't know any of the 'Big Bother' thread participants, but reading the thread is more entertaining that watching the TV show, and I can do it at work! Keep it up guys! (and gals)
SimonT
P.S. The 'is Simon really that busy ????' thread is the best, most interesting and longest running e-soap on the planet! I'm dying to know if gtb5 ever gets his money back, or whether he sends over an international hit-man to make Simon an offer he can't refuse

Absolutely Pugsax, and you received some gentle ribbing in return...its not like anyones come round and firebombed your car for your viewpoint.
I could take the same stance as 'me' and get deeply offended that i am one of the culprits who uses the forum for something other than 'purely CC and CC only' purposes.
I can (hopefully) honestly say that due to this forum, and remember, never actually meeting these people face to face, that if I were to visit various places on this good Earth, i could hook up with people here who would be willing to "look after" me....
and i would do the same for them too

The only thing that would deeply offend me is the phrase "perhaps point out some individuals' shortfalls" and the implication that 'me' has the moral right to do this.
