Picture a ship at anchor. Over the side hangs a rope ladder with half metre rungs. The tide rises at half a metre per hour. At the end of 5 hours, how much of the ladder will remain above water assuming that 9 rungs were above the water when the tide began to rise?

I think you missed out the seven-eighths in which case the answer would have been 100. (Everything cancels out and leaves you with one-tenth of one-thousand)

The answer to your question is 114.286 to 3dp.

In our calender, some months have 30 days and some have 31 days. How many have 28 days?

------------------------------------------

Based on the laws of the U.S. Constitution, there are 5 requirements a person must meet in order to become President of the United States. The candidate:

1. Must be at least 35 years old
2. Must be a citizen of the U.S.
3. Must have resided in the U.S. for at least 14 years
4. Must have been born in the U.S.

and what else??
