Hey guys n gals,

In 3 days I can pick up my shiny new CC with black leather. I ordered the leather, because, well, it looks so damn cool in the CC
I haven´t thought about the practical side though. Does it get very hot in the summer that one can´t sit on it ? Or can the airco blow the leather cool in a couple of minutes ? And what about the cleaning ?.

Anyway, I don´t mind about these things because with leather the car just looks so amazing, they had 2 cars in the showroom, one with and one without and the difference it made, really a lot. So I am glad I ordered it

My first summer with the CC, well not yet as it won't be hot till October. I'm very happy with leather.

Leather definitely more practical. The mud etc from my dogs and sticky ice-cream from friends child just wipes off. As for being too hot in the summer - over the last weekend it was very hot (over 30c at times!) and my seats were hot AND I had shorts on. Initially it is hot but cools down almost instantly as it is leather and being natural cools down quickly unlike the plastic seats in my 26yr old Bedford TK (ouch - once even had to wear gloves as the stearing wheel was so hot!!!).

Leather is the most practical option!!

Hope this is OK

It was a worry i had too when ordering the car, but can say that its not too bad. My temp guage hit 40 degs again just now and leather was 'comfortable'. The real danger is the alumiminum gear-knob in the heat! V.hot in summer, V.cold in winter. I believe it was Julia who mentioned (many months ago) that perhaps a 'Michael Jackson' glove could alleviate this problem..

No it wasn't me thank you - before the rumours start!!!!
Pauline has a "santa" hat she puts on hers to keep it warm in the winter!!

 I stand corrected...it was lizolinni not Julia who had the 'MJ' idea....

As i went back to find it i found a funny old topic and thought i would return it to the public eye...'How about some reply Simon?' by Jimmy (gtb5)

Two days of cc motoring, but several years of leather! We find the AutoGlym leather cleaner and conditioner is about the best, and we've tried most of them. It isnt too messy and is easily buffed. One word of warning, keep it away from any vynil or plastic unless you want a lovely reflective shine! But it leaves the leather with a matt finish

I also use my santa's hat to keep it cool in the summer  The bobble on the hat flashes when my phone rings - well, it did until I pulled it off

Leather is a must, with the roof down it can become quite dusty and as leather is wipe cleanable its fab.

Be more worried about the hot gear knob instead of hot seats.
