We've just taken delivery of an imported 206CC 1.6S (looks great in Moonstone) from Motor Solutions (£2500 saving from UK list). The only option ordered was the Alloy wheels. We've noticed that the car has the deeper sports bumper on the front, normally standard only on the 2.0SE. It also has the Nimrod alloys (standard on the SE) and not the Sirocco alloys as normally supplied on 1.6s. It also had the full sports pack fitted. Is this now the standard spec for 1.6Ss?

I've seen it said that 1.6S was to have deeper front grille as 2.0SE and alloys as standard, (but not necessarily as 2.0SE).

Have you checked to see if it has a 2 litre engine under the bonnet? You may have the wrong car! ..... and have saved £4000!

Everything else is standard 1.6S: Engine (yes it did cross my mind that they may have supplied us a 2.0SE), manual air-con, round exhaust, no side airbags etc.

We're quite happy with the car, but was just curious about the front bumper and alloys - as far as I know, they're not even offered as options on the 1.6.

You may want to check it does invalidate your insurance - not to UK spec anymore .

Ok a real girlie question but whats the difference with the bumper on the 1.6 to the 2.0?? I have an 02 1.6 does that mean I have the old style bumper?

The only real difference between the bumpers is the size of them. The 2.0 model has a much deeper bumper than the (original) 1.6.

2.0 one looks sooooo much better though!

You're right it is beautiful in Beverley. Only time I've been is when driving from Leeds to competition at Aike with the horse.

Burge

P.S. The horse doesn't fit in the CC before you ask even with the roof down!!!!
