People on here have bought their CC's all different ways. (importing themselves, buying from an import company, peugeot dealers etc) You will find the prices vary depending on how you buy!
I am 21, female and like you have had no claims at all. My insurance last year for my CC was £1300 (worst quote £6000!!)
This year I am looking to pay £755 with axamotor.co.uk.
If you are looking at various 206 models get the CC. Wins hands down above the GT and GTi!
(In my opinion)

Hi Greg,

Everyone here will say that they love their cars (except Rob! who hated his lemon so much he's getting another ).

List price for the 2.0SE is £16,500 or thereabouts, and the 1.6S is £14,250 I think? You could save a couple of grand buying from an importer but you won't get the 3 year warranty and dealers will treat you like something they've trodden in for warranty work.

Second hand - don't know! Last summer they were going for more than list, but that was when they were hard to get after problems at the factory. Prices might be more realistic now.

Anyway, good luck and, if you take the plunge, YOU WILL HAVE FUN! Pauline

PS The waiting list can be long (last summer, 26 weeks wasn't uncommon and Virgin/Jam Jar were quoting 46 weeks!! But I think dealers are quoting 16 now?)

Hi Greg, Pauline is right I HATE MY CURRENT CC.

But I bought my wife one as well and hers is GREAT. Hence why I am swapping my duff one for a new one. Some of the early production problems have been ironed out (famous last words).

As for the waiting list the dealers are now quoting 12 weeks. This is accurate as my new one was built last week, 8 weeks after ordering it.

Take the plunge and buy one, hell after all my problems (on the car before one of you clowns says something  ) nd I am still recommending them they have to be GOOD.

Hi Gregg,

I just want to clear up the import/warranty bit. You do get a 3 year warranty but you have to pay a bit extra for it (in my case £159) However the savings are still worth considering. I am saving £3,500 on a 2.0 CC SE, and that is including the 3 yr warranty and the £800 managed delivery.

And as for the dealers sticking their nose up at warranty work - they MUST do it as it is the law, you might just have to be a bit thicker skinned

The extended warranty that you buy is usually an insurance policy covering specific parts. I've got one on mine and it was £400 for 2 years! It's not a manufacturers warranty so I doubt you could go in with a leaky roof and say fix it.

But is the 3 year warranty on official imports 3 years manufacturer OR 1 yr manufacturer plus 2 yrs dealer - is the dealer part an insurance policy?

Pauline,

The 3 years warranty on the import I am buying is all manufacturers. It covers all parts mechanical including anything that goes wrong with the roof or otherwise.

Did u say you have imported your CC? If so how was the experience and who did u use?

Cheers,

Marco

What do u mean - 'add on insurance?

Also how was the experience of importing? My car is due in March and I must be honest i'm getting a bit nervous. I'm afraid that it is 2 good to be true!

Also what do you interpet as the difference between Manufacturers warranty and Dealers warrant, as I have heard so many different stories

No import cars will get a 3 year warranty (manafutures). A few months ago imports only had 1 year warranty then the importer might give you an extented warranty which of an extra 2 years. Now with EU regulations all imports come with 2 years warranty and you need to buy an extra 1 year.

Greg import the car mate if you want one you will save around £3000. Until the UK drop their prices I will never buy a brand new car here in this country.
