Hi!

I finally found a working adaptor that lets me use myu SONY headunit with the Peugeot stalk adaptor in the multiplex unit. The stalk and the display work fine, but there is an important flaw. After installing the adaptor, the headunit cannot "remember" the radio stations I stored. It only remembers them for a while, after I turn off the engine and then it forgets them. The adaptor comes from Connect2s.co.uk and it's the model DPGS003. Any ideas?

Sounds like you are missing the 12v continous feed needed for the stereo to keep it's memory.
Couldn't tell you why though, as I have never seen the Connect2 adaptor.

Good luck

yeah had this problem too. you just need to take a poewer feed from somewhere else that is not affectred by the Economy mode. in my case i ran it off the amp power cable. just be sure to take the face plate off when you leave the car otherwise it'll drain the batt.

Could you please tell me in details, step by step, how I should do this?
I haven't installed an amp, so I assume I can use the same power source as you did.

thanks

It seems I have solved my problem.
I switched the red and yellow cable of the SONY connector. It was red-yellow and yellow red and I switched to yellow-yellow and red-red.

Thanks anyway!

Hi Yannis!

Is it possible to send me a picture of the display and the headunit when it is in use?
I also would like to know the prize of the adaptor and if it is possible to run all sony-headunits with it, or only some special ones with certain connections.

Thanks
Stefan

Yes Yannis, what do you mean display works ok? As i know sony head units doesn't give any display info out of them. Whats the price of this adapter? (Euro) Do you know where to buy from? (in Greece?)

Ok, I ll tell you as much info as I can.

The display works with the SONY headunit and it displays whatever shows the SONY headunit, RDS and CT-Text info, but not MP3 info.
It is supposed to work with every SONY that has a minijack for the SONY cable controller.
You can find the adaptor from Connects2 and its the model DPGS003. There is also another one, the SPG003 which is only for the stalk control and not for the display.
Another point that you shoud pay attention is that there are 2 different versions of the DPGS003. One is, in case you had installed the Peugeot factory headunit and another one in case you bought the car without any factory headunit.
So if you seek that adaptor be careful which version you take.
The cost in Greece is pretty high (about 40.000drx or 120Euro). In England it's about 19Euro.

Thanks Yannis!

Last question:
Can you please tell me the name of the shop, where you bought the adaptor (URL?). I will try to buy the adaptor in England, because the cost in Germany is also pretty high (150,- Euro).

I didn't buy it from a shop but straight from http://www.connects2.co.uk who actually sent it to me free of charge, just to try it!!!
People there are great by the way. When the first adaptor didn't fit my car, one of their tech support called me and explained to me there were 2 versions etc...

Hi,

It's the SONY MP30 and the adaptor is the DPGS003. They both work great and don't cost much.

I made the mistake of buying the sony head unit and the connector for the peugeot stalk not knowing that the sony head needed to have a mini jack to work so ill have to do without the peugeot stalk (not that worried) as i love the sony its silver and will match the silver stuff inside my cc and the sonys display is red matching the red leather inside

Hi Yannis,

Great info! Did this adapter solve your problem with the "multiplexing" (As they seem to call it that)? Essentially I already installed my SONY headunit, but it still keeps running for 2 minutes when I took the key out. (Which is of course pretty annoying...) So of pure misery I decided to put the factory Clarion Headunit back in....

Thx!

Yannis probably the 19Euro price you mentioned in previous messages is wrong.. They contacted me directly and told me the price which is almost the same with the one here in Greece...
