maybe it's the same as shell optimax recently introduced in the uk
i used it for 1200 miles, saw a slight improvement in performance although nothing special and economy only increased by less than 1mpg.
not worth the extra 10% (near) so i went back to normal unleaded.

Yes it's the same, shell optimax with shell V power as it's called here in Greece. Also the "racing" is the one with 99 oct.
I used the regular one but I didn't see any difference to my pug so use now BP super unleaded with 98oct. and it costs about 0,85 euro. It's even cheaper than the regular shell V-Power!

I use Shell Optimax or Mobil Synergy 8000 both 98 Ron. Price is generally about A$0.05 per litre more expensive than regular unleaded (with is about 1p) and price per litre is around A$0.90-$1.00 per litre (about 30-35p). Given that there's no huge price difference I use higher octane. It may not show huge performance benefit but I'm assured it burns cleaner
Cheers
