Any1 Travelling down M1 from North to Thorpe Park?

Just wondered if anyone is travelling down from the North via the M1 to Thorpe Park next week. I really want to come but not being used to London type road stuff I'm a little nervous

(everybody say Awwww!) and may have to come on my own unless I can persuade Hubby to get up at some unearthly hour. No idea how long it will take me from Leeds - any ideas roughly?

If anyone is doing the M1 on the day please let me know and we could meet up an travel in small convoy ie. I could follow someone who knows where they are going!!!!

why not come down the m6 / m5 /a420 to swindon and join us ? From leeds it's about a 3 3.5 hour run !

Why not come down the day before? That way you can take your time at a sociable hour of the day and call it a romantic week-end away

Soz rob, can't convey down as i'm travelling down on the saturday morning, doing chessington world of adventure then going to the meet on sunday at thorpe

Burge, yes we are.

I will work out my route and times when I get home and re post. Would probably be about 06:15ish at the Trowell Services between J26 and J25

I will confirm, but bear in mind that I only do a steady 70 all the way

so can you handle it

Not really a speed merchant meself so 70 would suit me fine. Usually bottle it at 95!!! 80 is my usual cruising speed.

At least I won't have to worry about keeping up. A 6.15 start at Trowell would probably mean me setting off at about 5am. I live 2 miles off the M1 at Garforth. Hope to see you then - will you be bringing key-rings for those of us who ordered them and will be at Thorpe Park?
