Well, I got a surprise today. Seems I'm getting my CC early. I was expecting it in March but have now been told a vehicle has become available and I should take delivery one week from Saturday. It's an October 2001 build so is new spec. Silver with black leather - what more could one ask for.
Kirk, it you're reading this - have you got yours?
Cheers

Hi Frosty,
Great news!!
I haven't taken delivery yet - the paper work is still happening. That's my fault for getting the lovely tax benefit of Salary Packaging my car! But...
I've seen it, I've sat in ot, I've drawled on it but yet to drive it. I was all primed yesterday but they are yet to road test it (whatever that means).
Platinum Silver looks the goods...it is a real sharp and bright silver and suits the car to a tee. Makes it look both classy and sporty. You should be suitably impressed - I know my dealer was. Especially comparing it to the cherry red (pre xmas) one they sold and the black 1.6 they got in when mine arrived.
Oh yeh and the cloth interior aint half bad either. The 2-tone black and pebble grey looks quite sporty.
I gave it a good once over and there doesn't seem to be any obvious issues (touch wood). Anything you suggest I look for. The 'new' spec features were hard to determine. Not 100% sure what I'm looking for (without turning the thing on).
I probably won't get mine until early next week once all the paper work with my lease company is complete but I am as good as there!
Congrats once again.
Kirk.

Kirk, thanks for the well wishes and I'm thrilled to hear that silver looks the business. Can't wait to see it.
Re what to look for - I'm not qualified. I'd suggest you post a specific question on the forum for your build and model and see what comes in.
I really feel for you. Must be so frustrating to feel the owning experience but at a distance. Who knows, we might take delivery at the same time - I've got my insurance, financing etc all in order.
Keep in touch.

So far so good. No roof problems or leaks whatsoever. A few creaks recently but nothing significant.
One fault a couple of weeks ago. The driver-side windows opened themselves recently while I was driving and wouldn't close. A mechanic at the dealer's did reproduce it and disconnected the window switch until I could bring it in for a proper check.
It's going in tomorrow for its 6,000 mile service, some mud-flags a new speaker and to have the window checked out.
That being said, I reconnected the window switches myself at the weekend and the problem has not resurfaced.
Overall, an excellent car. Would only change it for the world.

Derek,
you may well overtake me in the 'LEMON STAKES'. My new car is currently sitting at the dealers awaiting the transfer of my stereo, phones and Sat Nav
It looks perfect so far - but this is me we are talking about - somethings bound to fall of it.
For those of you who are interested my old 'LEMON' now has the registration of Y882BBC
The garage have both cars at the moment and have lent me a 1990 Volvo 440. 'Stylish' is not a description that springs to mind, 'interesting driving experience' does though
Forgot when driving home and early went 'off road' at a round about.

Yeh Rob, hope your new car is lemonless!
By the way which dealer do you go to, I seem to remember seeing Blackshaws mentioned in a previous post? Have you ever been to Peugeot at Pentagon Island, Derby? This is closer to me - but if you would recommend Blackshaws I would probably go there instead (not to buy your old lemon obviously!)

Went for my first drive last night. Quite an experience especially for someone who is still learning how to drive a manual. Oh yeh and the indicators switch on the left rather than right hand side stalk got me a few times. I probably didn't need to put the windscreen wipers on in 37 C weather!
Looking forward to driving it out of the dealers and not having to return it!
Kirk.

Thanks guys for the good wishes
As for Pentagon Island its called Pavillion Motors and is owned by Peugeot itself so work it out for yourself what to expect
Lets just say it is on mine and Lyndons Black list
They are in our experience appaling. Before Lyndon and I had even met we had taken our CC's to Pentagon just to show them that a decent dealer can deliver what they say they will and not mess you about. I could say more but it coould be seen as defamatory so I will leave it up to you to work it out.
So go to Blackshaws, I cant fault them. Ask for Lee Whiteside - he will look after you and you wont get the usual dealer bull####. There are several dealers closer to me than Blackshaws but it was customer service that I wanted not smarmy 2 faced liars...........
