Hi all,
Just a quick question - I have had my 2 litre CC for a month or two now and was just wondering if there are any visible markings/codes etc that say it is a 2 litre (apart from the 16" wheels, sports pack etc) as there is nothing on the engine. Also all of you that have a 2.0 version whats your highest speed on the speedometer (e.g last number marking on mine is 130 mph with a dash after for 135 mph)
many thanks
Marco

Depends what you mean by "can only".
If you mean what does the factory make, then yes. If you mean what can you fit yourself, then no.

I'm not much help, but getting back to the original post .........
Some time back in my Triumph club magazine it gave an explanation of what my TR7's VIN No. stood for.
The initial combination of letters/numbers tells you, (I think), such info as manufacturer, model type, engine size, manual or auto, which country's market it was made for, year(?) etc.
Our ex CC was a 2001 51 reg 1.6S manual and began VF32DNFUF followed by 8 numbers which were its line no.
If yours is a 2.0SE and you can spot one of the 1st 9 letters/numbers varying, then this must be the engine identification!
Now wasn't that interesting!!!!!!!!! Yawn, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The 206cc is a 2DRFN*
The 206cc SE is a 2DRFNF
No idea what the VF3 is - perhaps it's the code for Peugeot. The rest of it will be the engine number but may also include other information such as paint code.
