Calling on all you people who imported. My CC is due for its first service tomorrow and although I have a voucher in the handbook stating it is free the Peugeot garage it is booked in for states that unless it is stamped by uk dealer I have to pay. Is this a true or is it the usual minkey b******s and I should stand firm!!

I'll be interested in the answer to this as well. What does it say on the voucher itself?

As always I think there is more than one answer to this.
I know someone with an imported standard 206 and he had to pay to get his car serviced for the first (usual free) service. But I know that owners on here (think Pauline was one of them) with imported CC's got it free!
As usual it is probably a "lets make up the answer" from the monkeys?

There's got to be a definitive answer from the two possibilities:
1. Peugeot carry the cost for the first service in the price of the car. The dealers recoup the cost from {eugeot as they would for any recall or warranty work.
2. The dealers carry the cost for the first service in the price they sell the car for.
In case 1, the service is free wherever you got the car and wherever you get it serviced (as long as it's an official EU dealer).
In case 2, the dealer is within their rights to charge for the service if not bought through the dealer network of that country.

I just asked the following question via the peugeot uk web site
Stuart
I wonder if I will hear anything!Hello,
I recently purchased a UK spec car imported from France (dealership in Le Harvre beging of August). After reading variuos "interesting" stories on the internet I am looking for some official Peugeot conformation that dealers in the UK will honour the 2 year EU warranty and also provide the first 6000mile service free. Apparently people have been having problems including being asked to pay for the 1st service.
A response that I can print out and take to any peugeot dealer would be much appreciated
Stuart

Keep hold of the e-mails in case you need to forward them to Trading Standards (or even Watchdog)...
