I can't really comment except to say I will be getting a spare of some sort - especially for long journeys. Whether it's the full 16" alloy, or a 15" steel 'spacesaver' (more likely) is another matter.

I decided a space-saver was required before buying the car and finding this forum. Getting the wheel was easy from the dealer for £21, but they were not helpful regarding pricing or sourcing the tyre. Ditto lots of tyre shops...I eventually got the Conti for £40 fitted. It takes about a third of the boot space under the screen, but is a useful bucket. Given the costs of the foam and the ruined tyre, one repairable puncture with 50% useable tread will have me in profit and I intend to keep the car for several years.

I reckon it probably depends on where you drive, how valuable your time is, and how annoyed you would be when it happens. You can only know your own answers for yourself.
I reckon I'll get one. I haven't heard anyone say that they've successfully used the spray or that it's been good (anyone...... ???) Most of my driving is around town so I can probably rely on the breakdown service for that. But now and again when I go on a drive somewhere else like in the country, and you're anywhere up to a few hours from any major town centre, I think I couldn't possibly not have one in the back just in case. Of course things would be a bit different in UK to Oz but you get the idea.
I've only ever had 2 punctures in 13 years of driving, but can you imagine being stuck by the roadside for a few hours, possibly even without mobile phone reception, waiting for help to arrive!?!?!?!?! :x

Just checked mine for you, it has
In bold letters PIRELLI SPARE TYRE INFLATE TO 420kPa (60psi)
and the important bit in smaller letters T 115/70 R 15.
I wouldt be without mine, it just gives me peace of mind when driving on the continant to know that I wouldnt be completely stuck if I got a flat.
