need help getting new stereo!!!

Hi there,

I'm still having problems finding a stereo for my CC. I've been into halfords and they say that there is a cable that will make the control stick and display work with ANY stereo - Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer etc.

Does anyone know of this cable?

Can anyone give me some advice on what stereo will work with my car? It's an 02 plate CC s. I'd ideally like a stereo that has a tft screen built in, but not sure which ones will work!

Any help is appreciated

All standard headunits will 'work'. Some may work with the stalk and/or display, but definitely not all.

The current consensus seems to be that only Sony headunits have a working stalk adapter.

you can get stalk adapters for pretty much any HU. The confusion with Sony is that you can allso get a lead by a company called contects2 which gives you the display functionality as well. But that is only for Sony HU's.

the sell at halfords but the muppets at mine deny it exists even though i gave em a part number !

I went into Halfords and they didn't have a clue (VERY expensive as well!)

Then went to another store near me (Ultimate Audio in Bromsgrove) and they've sorted me out with a Clarion Stereo (DXZ925 ). They've ordered two leads in - one for the stalk and one for the display!

It seems that you can get the display to work as well as the stalk with most makes (Clarion, Sony, Alpine etc). All you need is the cables.

It's getting fitted either tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'll let you know how it goes!
