Okay, the first day my ice warning starts flashing - and my heater doesn't seem to be working properly. Ambient temperature of 'luke-warm' to 'cool', it did get mildly warm when I accelerated to overtake (up at around 90mph) but dropped off again even though it was set to 28degrees.
Can you reject your CC after 19months of ownership ?? It was only in the garage last week for a manifold swap-out !!

what is the engine temperature like. It may be that your radiator thermostat is faulty. If so then :) as its a job even I (mr mechanically incompetent) can do in 15 minutes so the monkeys may take less than a day.

Be careful. I once thought my heater wasn't working in my 106 - it was it just didn't get warm air from anywhere (suspect antifreeze not put in at service!) and eventually head gaskit blew most inconveniently on Christmas Day!!

I took the car out at lunchtime - noticed the temperature gauge was well into the red. Got it back to check it out - the fan was working like billy-o to cool the engine down.

On the way home, same thing. Pulled over, checked coolant (took cap off as I could not tell the level) there didn't seem to be ANY ! Checke the hoses, all cold. Checked the radiator - STONE COLD ! (absolutely no coolant in the system)

Stopped at the first place I could to get some water - filled it up with some help from a local. I then drove 30 miles, fairly 'briskly', temp gauge never getting to half way, checked when I got home and the car had cooled down - it took about 1/2 a pint of water to fill up. I only had my 30K service on 8th, it was only in last week for the manifold to be replaced...odd ! I am now worried that some serious damage has been done.

It goes back into the dealership tomorrow for them to look at, decide what might/might not be wrong, order parts and tell me to take back a few days later. The joys of Peugeot ownership.

Feedback from the garage :

We have checked for leaks, flushed the system and filled it up with coolant. We can't find a problem.

Reckon they drained the system to do your manifold and forgot to fill it up again?
Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest!

 I just picked it up and had a 'discusion' with the service manager and a couple of the other numb-skulls. The system was not drained, either at my 30K service 2 weeks ago, or when they fitted the manifold last week AND there is no sign of a leak, so there isn't a problem ?! The coolant may have been leaking into the engine over a period of time, although a fluid-check forms part of the 30K service, although they cannot check levels because the level does not tshow through the header tank, they just top it up. Basically - nothing done and nowt wrong. I have to monitor. Lyndon, can we swear on the forum
