Autolights ... getting tedious being told by someone smugly that I left my lights on .... i try to park round a corner where no one can see me nowadays :(, Im concidering deactivating it, but its the principle of the matter, this was an optional extra on my model

No. you just tell the smug git the lights are automatic and the car will switch them of by it's self.

Try saying it with an air of "if you knew anything about cars and the wonderfull CC in particular you'd ynow that"

You too can be smug

Actually the Auto-lights feature seems to be a bit of a mixed blessing. Driving through the tunnels on the A55 in North Wales the lights came on and off so frequently that the guy in front thought I was flashing him!

(maybe I should slow down :) )

Also I HATE leaving the lights on without the engine running (even for two minutes) so I always switch them off manually when I stop the car.

Finally it was getting a bit dark and gloomy on Sunday with the heavy cloud cover and I waited for the lights to cut in, and waited, and waited, and eventually switched them on myself. So far I'd score autolights at best 5/10.

Auto wipers seems to be even worse. Either they don't switch on until the screen is so spattered that it's like driving under water, or when they do cut in they do a couple of slow wipes and then go berserk! It seems to be random, sometimes they work Ok other times they just go too fast or too slow. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had problems with the auto wipers on my 306 so when I ordered my cc I asked them not to fit them as I preferred the speed sensitive wipers that are now fitted to multiplex cc's The auto headlights also were a pain on the 206 I had prior to my cc arriving so I did without them. I find that a flick of the fog light ring suffices so long as I remember to switch them off when I leave the tunnel. If not they switch off when I turn the engine off.

whats the difference between speed sensitive and auto wipers???
Oh .. and how do you make the lights turn off as the engine does, i dont see the point of them staying on for 30 secs... yet again i was told id left my lights on .... now i wasnt in a good mood this morning so they got a mouth full ... ummm :D

i can't fault the auto lights. an odd time they come on when they shouldn't but apart from that i think they are excellent.

auto wipers - as i have said many times ..... very unimpressed ! excellent when they work as you would like them too but it's not very often.

as for not taking both options with the car. you don't need to activate auto lights if you don't want to and if you don't want to use the auto wipers then you can avoid it but i'm sure a future owner of the car would like to have the choice themselves.

The speed sensitive wipers work by reducing the time delay in intermittent mode once the speed rises above 50mph and switch off when stationary and in position 1 they switch to intermittent when stationary and in position 2 they slow down to speed 1 when stationary.

The Auto Wipers are rain sensitive and vary the speed according to how hard it's raining.

Hope this explains it
