Very much so Alex :)

I've just got back from my holiday in Rome and wanted to finish off the reel of film so I've taken 3 shots of the disk and three of the engine...to be uploaded next week.

I can see that might be a problem. Having said that, being a person that tends to be wary by nature, I can't see any situation where I would leave my car unattended with the roof down...( Can't legislate for the nutters that may want to rip it off while in transit though...)

Question though..I thought it was a legal requirement to display the taxdisk.

{{added afterthought}} Can't remember what country you are from so the requirements may be different there?

oh i knew erm would say somin, , yes it is a legal requiremnt but so is keeping within the speed limits, wearing seatbelts etc.... if i get stopped i just explain the situation. i never displayed my tax in my zetec-s as well, and when the cocky copper gets funny i just show it to him and he goes all quiet. it really is quite satisfying. :D :D

If he wants to be funny though, you could find yourself with a summons.

The offence is Failure To Display - having a tax disc is irrelevant if it's not displayed - you can still be fined.

If you get a ticket for Failure To Display a tax disc, the only defence in court is that you did have one displayed. Even if it's in your glovebox, that's not a defence. You will be convicted of the offence.
