I've just been quoted £38.18 to get the Clarion disabled!
After telling them I can't see how pressing a few buttons on a computer can take half an hour. He then said they would quote 0.3 hours as what they do is print everything off in case there's a problem and they have to re-enter everything. Still £22.91 though...

No they are not crazy...
Either they do it for free to build up a good relation to you as a customer or they charge for half an hour which is the smalest amount of time they use when they write the bill. At least this is how it works in Norway... if they choose to charge you or do it for free is very up to how the customer behaves and how good they are to make a good deal...
My experience is to be nice, smile a lot, be realistic and dont ask for too much for free, but make it clear that you dont want to pay for everything they do.. just play on their customer relationship... and try to make them feel that they have got a faithful customer..
Not saying that you Axel dont behave or is not abel to make a good deal.. this is just general advices...
And dont forget, sometimes they are crazy.. then you turn you back to them and go to another dealer/garage... Remember ..its you who have got the money they want

In Greece, as long as the pug is in warranty, you get it no charge. I did it last week and, to be honest, I felt difference in throttle response since then. The programm or the application (DIAG2000) doesn't give you much details on what is upgrading/updating though.
Dealers in Norway or elsewhere are pathetic if this kind of treatment happens.

If it's in warranty there's no charge if there's a problem. There's not a problem with mine, I wanted something changing, so they charged for it.
In fact, there was a woman there at the same time complaining of the engine cutting out (surprise, surprise). They said even though it was under warranty, they would charge her around £80 just to diagnose it...
