i was going to say £12500 but looking at auto express valuation (normally pretty accurate) prices are holding up well. this is based on a Y reg as 51 reg is too new but at 10k miles as it won't take anything less................
Ex/Av/Poor are trade prices
Your valuation for a
2001 Y with 10,000 miles
New £ 14315
Excellent £ 12100
Average £ 10700
Poor £ 9420
Retail £ 13650

seems like a bargain - too cheap if u know what i mean. i would still prefer a new one mind you.
for as long as i can afford to buy them, i will only buy new cars - sometimes a waste of money but i prefer to be the 1st owner.

If you don't mind an import exactly to UK spec which you can view and choose from several before you buy rather than wait for your new car to turn up when you pay for it, have a look at www.motorhouse2000ltd.co.uk I bought my car from there... ok I'm not the first registered owner but I still have the pleasure of driving around in a beautiful black 52 plate 206CC SE starting from 1 mile on the clock and turning plenty of heads! I think it was worth the saving of a few thousand just to forfeit that first registered keeper.
Only thing to keep your fingers crossed for is that you have a friendly dealer. Having said that they have to honour the warranty whether they like it or not. There's 2 dealers near me, I visited one when I was looking to buy and they fed me so much crap (like if you take the multiplex stereo out the car won't work!!!) I vowed I'd never buy from them. The other one, which is closer to me thankfully is very reasonable and give a fair picture and are happy to help... (so far.. fingers crossed).
As for warranty, as long as you have the service book they have to honour it, but I think it's 2 years not 3. (may be wrong I'm sure it'll be verified). Again taking into consideration the price...
They register the car after you make your agreement to buy, so the time on the log book between first registration and first change of registered keeper is a matter of days. I considered virgin and the such like but couldn't stand the idea of waiting months.

When I tried selling my CC in autotrader there were loads of ads from import companies offering NEW 2.0 SE's for only just over £14,000, with my 51 plate SE then only 9 months old advertised at £14250, I didn't stand a chance against this sort of competition. Needless to say I had no replies after weeks of advertising and ended up selling it back to the dealer for £13,100.

supply and demand could be influencing prices on a local basis. CC's from what I see aren't common in Scotland - I don't see many at all .....
A Peugeot dealer in Glasgow today is advertising an 01 Y 1.6S in Moonstone. Doesn't mention what options it has but is selling at £13995. Seems a high price but it's not unusual and you don't normally see them advertised any more than 2 weeks max.
