Just an idea, don't know if anyone else has asked about this before. Does anyone make a mod to allow unattended closing of the roof from a remote? I went to look at a cc on Saturday and I am thinking of getting one this year but I was disappointed to see that you have to stay holding the button until the roof is fully closed then shut the catches. Would it not be possible to have the catches click shut when the roof is fully closed and have the roof close from a remote control on a keyring (drooling at the thought). I know that there are safety issues with this but I think it would be the ultimate toy to not have to sit in the car as it locks it's self up. Is there not an Astra soft top that works like this (advert on TV last year)?

Thoughts Please

I'm sure it would be possible for the clips to lock by some sort of spring loaded mech' when the roof is fully shut. I don't see how it could be done to open on a remote but I'm not that fussed about that anyway.

nope, no better way to spend the money if you are going to spend extra money on the car. A remotecontroll for the roof would be the ultimate thing!!! Would be just fantastic to open and close the roof without sitting in the car.

Someone has managed to remote the roof of their CC.
All I remember is he owns a black CC. There is a website which shows a clip of the roof working via his keyfob remote!
Least this gives you starters! Hopefully someone can pick up on the bits I can't remember!

I have seen it several places but always the same answer on the mail: the clips have to be released first...

I don't mind having to unclip it when opening the roof but it would be good if the roof clips would shut by them selves when closing. It can't be that complex, can it?

Thank you Julia, Bergen and Freedrive. Does anyone else have any ideas or links to sites on the topic?
