Well, I got a nail through my tyre yesterday.

Quite strange that I had no spare to get me out of trouble, but at least I noticed it while it was on the drive and not half way through a journey.

The AA tyre serve people were very good. Although they didn't have the tyre at 1am they got it for first thing in the morning. Paid £50 for the benfit of the service but it was good.

Probably going to invest in a space saver now though.

I bought some Puncture Sheild at the motor show but haven't put it in my tyres yet. Anybody had any experience good or bad with the stuff?

Sounds like strange stuff? What is it supposed to do? I haven't heard of that before.

I want self re-inflating tyres like on a james bond bmw!

The whole nail thing made me think though....
I noticed that my tyre was slightly lower than normal in terms of pressure when I set off from birmingham. It was a quick drive up the m1 at about 90 all the way to leeds.

The nail could easily have shreaded the tyre and at that speed I wouldn't have stood a chance.

Don't know whether to slow down a bit or check the tyres every journey?!
Could have been nasty though.
