ok, so i have just booked my cc in for its 6000 mile free service.... asked for a courtesy car, and they said that the service would only take 30 mins.
I laffed my head off, and then told them about my manifold (cracked), relay switch (which keeps switching on and off when wet), squeaky brakes, squeaky clutch, etc etc
they said, ok, have a pug 206 hdi...... BUT.... i have to arrange my own insurance
was just wondering what experience others have had with peugeot dealers and sourtesy car insurance? with ford they always put me on their insurance, because you cant tell how long they are going to have the car

Well I had a courtesy car today whilst getting the Diamond Brite & SP grills done. I just signed for the car and off I went. I did notice that there were 2 boxes, one for "customer's insurance" and one for "lender's insurance" - they'd ticked the lender's box...
They had asked when I made the appointment if I was over 25 - that was for the insurance.

at one time dealers did cover you on their insurance but most now make you use your own.
being honest it must have cost them a bit with the risk so you can't really blame them.

why would you want to use the garage insurance.
no one drives any different in a courtesy car do they, none of us become posessed and drive like "white van man" on acid.
I always find a garage that will let me use their insurance even if there is a small charge.

i have had big arguements over garage insurance in the past (with ford).
i have had a few cars off them before when my car has been having work done, BUT on 1 occasion they refused and said i wasnt old enough. i then argued saying that because i still pay the same price for their service but dont get the sane quality of service as older customers. then i said i have had cars in the past,( at this point i am fuming). they then procced to call me a LIAR. weeeeeeell, i went stupid. made official complaints etc.....

thats about it. didnt buy another car off them. still wouldnt give me a car because they said insurance wont cover it. this really ****** me off. i find it hard to accept that i have to pay the same price for cars as older customers but get a **** service, i cant comment on peugeot yet as i havnt needed a car off them yet, needless to say i will probaby get the same problem.

i was meaning in terms of when you get one when your car is getting serviced, not repaired under warranty.i disagree, they should cover you. you shouldnt need 1 in the first place.
and if you have a decent insurance company, getting covered for a courtesy car shouldn't be a problem anyway.

you think you have it bad - try explaining why you needed one for 4 days, 9 days, 4 weeks and 5 weeksI had trouble with my insurance company last time trying to cover a courtesy car. I spent about 20 minutes arguing with them, as they wanted to know why I needed courtesy cars all the time (4 times in 5 months). I told them perhaps they should ask Peugeot why they sell duff cars![]()
Needless to say I've changed insurance companies now
