hi all.

I want to get abig stereo system for my CC and a sub will obviously have to be a part of it. I've seen all these setups you guys have in your boots and that is the kind of thing I want. Something bothers me though.

Isn't it possible that, having these systems in the boot, when you have your roof down, there is a chance all the vibration of the bass will cause some damage to the electronics of the roof and so on? Surely it can throw out microswitches etc?

I'm not a techy person with cars so that is an observation of someopne who is worried about messing up their lovely new car. How long have you guys had your systems and do they cause you any such problems????

all teh subs do is cause vibrations (thats what sound is) i wouldnt worry about it mate. i'd be more worried about the rear screen smashing when its down.

I realise its just vibration but that is where trouble could come in. As you say, the window could smash but also I would have thought there was a chance of things (such as screws, bolts and delicate electric components) being shaken loose with excessive vibration and so on.

Its not as if there would be a huge space between roof and sub.

OK. As I said, wasn't sure on it, just something that was worrying me. Having been a DJ, I've worked with soundsystems that have destroyed various things around them, wasn't sure how it worked in cars but if you guys think its ok......
