as i am 191 cm tall, it would sometimes be nice if the seats were 3 - 8 cm lower.

do you think this is possible?

as i last year wanted to buy a mazda mx-5 (miata) the dealer offered to lower the seats for me and i wonder if it is possible to do the same on a cc...

Denmark, I think i'm probably of similar height (6'3.5"). I noticed my vision through the front window was a bit high at first.

Have you tried adjusting the height seat adjustment lever on the driver's side. I found that this lowered the seat to an acceptable level. Unfortunately, from what I can see, they don't have a similar lever for the passenger side.

Interesting to note that my CC (Australia) has the height adjustment lever on both driver and passenger sides. Must be one of the subtle differences in spec from one country to another.

You get the height adjustment lever on the passenger side if you go for the leather seats.

I dont see why they cant lower the seat. They have made enough noise about doing exactly the same for Richard Burns as he thought the seat in his rally car was tooooo high.

Denmark, sorry to hear the height adjustment hadn't worked enough (perhaps your longer in body than I am in leg).

Alexis, thats interesting, I've got red/black leather but haven't noticed a height adjustment lever on the passanger side, I'll have to check tomorrow.

Is yours new spec? Maybe it's only the new spec cars that have it...

Mine is a Sept 2001 model, just before the 2002 model came out.

I'd be interested to hear from any 2002 model owners if they have a height adjustment lever on the passanger side with leather seats.

If so, Derek, it seems you may have missed out a spec on the 2002 models, perhaps you can let me know when you get your new one.

robbie,

i'm a bit lost here, i get mentioned in a subject i haven't contributed to so far, maybe you are thinking of someone else

for the record, my lemon was 2002 spec, built in november and DID have the seat height adjustment on the passenger seat. i dont know about the earlier spec but it is definitely the case if you order leather then you also get the height adjustment on the passenger seat.

Sorry Derek, I was referring to an earlier reply of yours at another post - no wonder I seem to have confused you. It was all about the additional spec for 2002 models I asked about. Of course I remember your car is the Nov model and therefore of 2002 spec (I hope I haven't confused myself at this point).

From what you say it seems that the 2002 model with leather has a passanger side height adjustment lever that the earlier models missed (I have leather but without one and my car is of older spec bought in Sept 2001.). A shame, because this would have been useful to me as a passenger as I'm 6'3".

Why on earth do you want to be in the passenger seat?
