Hehe, looks I managed to become the 206th member on this forum.

I'm currently waiting for a silver 206CC SE here in South Africa and was wondering if anybody knows how I go about getting the bumpers and side-strips colour-coded to match. Is it done at the factory or by the dealer normally? I've also seen pictures of both silver and black 206CCs with red wing mirrors. Does anybody know how you get this done?

Also, does anybody have more information regarding the changes in the exterior colours. My dealer informed me the other day that the "Platinum" colour has been replaced by "Aluminium" which is apparently a shade lighter.

Still got a few months to go (dealer reckons May/June 2002)

sorry no idea on the colour change

as for colour coding, I got my dealer to sort it all out before I picked it up. They just used a local car body shop.

seems that you need to use some special primer or similar on the plastic first and then just spray it

Rob, thats interesting. Could never understand why Peugeot hadn't bothered to colour code the CC's outer trim and bumpers!!

One of the reasons I went for black was because I wasn't sold on the black bumper/trims on the rest of the colours (I felt it stood out a bit). I was also worried that Peugeot may decide to colour code them at a later date on new models (like ford used to do) which may make mine look a bit dated. At least with black, I felt the trim blended better.

I had no idea that Peugeot were willing to colour code the trims, allbeit through contractors. Is this something all dealers do, or a one off, as I would be interested to know next when the time comes to change my current Pug.

Robbie.

I had the whole of the front and rear bumpers painted to get a perfect colour match. The side strips were also done as were the mirrors and their surrounds.

It was a similar price to Simons and more was done.

simon's is a simple and straight forward idea, but it looks like more work is involved compared to dropping your car off somewhere and picking it back up later.

of course i'm not saying i am lazy or anything

Within the "299.00" price is included all New Mouldings..

I am considering another offer that takes the old mouldings in on an "exchange" basis.. To save the customer some dosh..

Thanks for those suggestions, I'm now sold on the idea. Going to colour code my trim on my next purchase.

Just had a quote from my dealer of £282. They said it would be a two day job and would give me a courtesy car.

Seems a fair price - we paid £313.76 for Melanies car.

Are you doing the surround by the side mirrors as well ?

No, just the bumpers and side strips. Just got the bonnet vents colour coded by dealer for 48.18 and they have done a really good job. Mesh Grill looks fandabidosi aswell! Only got a 1.6 so glad they do the smaller grill now and didn't have to go to the lengths that Erm did to get his.
