Well, what I hoped would never happen - did!

Rained over the weekend, and when it was all clear I chamoised my CC down and cleaned it top to bottom. Dropped and raised the roof and let it be.

Come Monday morning, opened the door and got in - dry as a bone. Revered and braked and then it rained inside from the drivers side near where the roof joins the windshield.

I have been in touch with Peugeot Concessionaires Australia (PCA) and here's my e-mail and the response.....

A bit of disappointing news. I got into my car this morning after having had some rain over the weekend, and guess what? As I reversed out of my driveway and braked - SWOOSH! Down came quite a stream of water on the drivers side window where the roof joins the windscreen. It was exactly the same thing described in the January Wheels article, and in line with all that I have learnt from people suffering similar problems in Europe.

I've let Straightway know and am taking it in on Wednesday. Do you know if there is a fix that Peugeot recommend? I'm quite disappointed after the elation I have had up to now. Haven't lost faith though as I know it must be fixable. Interested in any comment that you have.

Hi Stephen,

Unfortunate news on the leak, and I am sure Straightways will be able to look after it for you.

I am not sure of any specific 'fix', as the solution will depend on what the actual problem appears to be. They will look at how the roof is sealing and the general area to trace where the water is getting through.

Please let me know how you go.


So tomorrow it's back to the dealer - booked in first thing. I have absolute faith in them - they've been wonderful over the almost 8 years that I've dealt with them.

Rest assured I'll be keeping PCA in the loop with my experiences and feeding it back to this forum.

In the meantime I urge any Aussie owners to do as I have - work through the dealers and see what happens. If you have a problem, please contact me directly via e-mail (sjfrost@optushome.com.au) and I'll be sure to get the instances of any problems back to PCA.

For any prospective Aussie owners reading this I'll answer the question - "Any regrets?". Answer is "NONE"

The CC is a great car. Mine is a joy and I wouldn't take my 306 Cab back for a moment. From my experience Peugeot build brilliant cars and my dealer support is attentive. Just a bit of fine tuning needed.

There is an official way to fix it. Peugeot Norway has got manuals (in french of course) spesific to this problem and how to fix it.They got it from Peugeot headquarter and this is in a way the first time Peugeot official admit that it is a problem with leaks. If it works? I dont know. Will try it out next week.
If they dont come up with a solution for you then you can ask for the official manual for repairing these leaks. I dont got them, the dealer havent got them, but peugeot Norway have them and they are going to assist the dealer when he is doing the operation on my car.

Frosty dont let them use the smelly mastic type stuff. It never goes hard and gets on your clothes and your nice 'new' smelling car is no more. :sad:(

Dropped the car in this morning and they're taking a look at it. Interestingly the Service Manager said they have seen the problem with all the CC's they've had. He said once you open the door the water runs into the channel and that's why it drips through when you brake. Not convinced. Will see what they have to say tonight when I collect it, and if I still have concern will take it up with Peugeot Australia.

Good news is that I don't have leaks anywhere else. Will keep you posted.

neither did i until they tried to fix the first leak - i ended up with 4 when i got it back.

have to say that the level of service that I have received from my dealer and their workshop over the past several years has been nothing but top notch. If the problem can be fixed, then I know these guys can do it.

Don't let Derek get you down Frosty. I had the same leak as you and got it fixed. I guess its just luck of the draw as to the skill level of technicians at your dealership. I was lucky, he wasn't :sad:

I'll make a post later today when I get the car back. By the way the reason it's at the dealers today isn't becuase of the leak, but rather they want to respray the bumber as they weren't happy with the paint when the car came in. I would never have picked it. They would normally have not released the car to me, but did becuase I wanted it so desperately.

I think that says something about these guys. Not only are they rectifying it (as they should) they pointed it out in the first place. Not something that would happen everywhere, I'm sure.

Bergen, thanks for the information regarding your dealer and their solution using Paugeot manuals.

My dealer seems to understand the problem but has no direct information from Paeugeot how to fix it, and as such are reluctant to perform unauthorised corrective work. They are also not aware of any Peugeot documentation for the repair.

I was wondering if you could help me with one of the following?

Ask your dealer to

1) scan a copy of a page of the manual you referred to and e-mail to me at sjfrost@optushome.com.au, or
2) send me the Peugeot reference number for the repair document

Either of these will help me. I'll give it to my dealer and also to Paugeot Australia and it should speed up the process of tracking down details of what's required to fix it.
