just a thought
have you read the small print in the paint and corrosion warranty
It states that if you apply anythiong that affects these items then they wont pay out.
Check with Peugeot that Diamond Brite is OK - get it in writing.

As stated in another thread it may invalidate the warranty on paintwork, as that's the part of the car I've messed with. As I've had an additional protective coating applied (which in itself has a longer guarantee than that of Peugeot), I can't see an instance where I'd need to claim warranty on the paint. All in all, I'm not concerned.

It may be worth checking whether it also affects the 10 year (?) corrosion warranty...

I'm with you now. Again, I'm not too stressed, I've never kept a car for longer than two years but I intend to try harder with this one, never had such a fantastic car before! Because I tend to keep them for such a short period of time, I doubt corrosion would be a worry, maybe to whoever buys the car from me, but that's life! I'll see if they notice anything different about the paintwork at the 6,000 mile check up!

Rachel, I've only had the car treated for about five months, so haven't yet encountered the aftercare.
encountered my first problem today though, my first stone chips - two of them! (knew I shouldn't have mentioned maintenance free motoring).
I knew that this was bound to happen at some stage since these prodcuts claim to reduce damage such as stone chipping (not eradicate them). Looking at the Diamond Brite warranty, it doesn't cover damage to the car from stone chipping and I suspect neither do the other similar products - though other damage such as bird doodoo is covered.
I'm also a little worried because I have a double stonechipping to the windsreen side pillar with two tiny micro fractures in the paintwork surrounding the damage. I have no idea how this could have been caused. I intend to visit Peugeot in the next few days to obtain their advice before I try and touch it in.
Apart from that I'm very pleased with my choice. Only need to clean the paintwork once a month and it stays pretty clean looking even though it's black.

Rachel, I haven't yet broached the subject of how Diamond Brite effects the warrranty but I will raise it in the next coming days.
I'll probably end up touching the chippings in after I've spoken to Peugeot.
I would hope that the use of Diamond Brite would not effect any warranty as it's a well known product and because Peugeot themselves use a similar product on their cars.

Well, went to the dealers saturday, the after care manager wasn't there but someone looked at the damage and thought the paint had "peeled", bit worried - will return to Peugeot next week to learn more (and to check if Diamond Brite has any warranty implications to paintwork).

Returned to Becks of Brighton, was told that the damage to my paintwork was as a result of impact and not peeling (though I have no idea how that assessment was reached). Dealer touched the damage in for me with a touch up stick.
again!
Rachel, the dealer told me no problem with Diamond Brite, paintwork warranty not effected

Now I come to mention it, I remember driving down the road the other day and hearing a VERY loud "ping" noise against the windscreen pillar, no cars in sight. Suspect it may have been an airgun pellet, certainly consistent with the sort of unusual damage I had. If so, I know what I'd do with the rifle, it wouln't see the light of day. lol

Hiya Robbie,
Back for more advice. I cleaned the car for the first time yesterday. The instructions on the Diamond Brite products weren't very clear so I'm after confirmation that I'm doing it right! I washed it with the special shampoo, rinsed it off and then poured a bucket of water containing the conserver over it (a bit more carefully than it sounds!) As the conserver is white, it leaves distinct water marks. Am I doing this wrong or do I need to chamois it off to avoid water marks?
Thanks!

Rachel, I hope you don't make the mistake I made with the top up protection preserver (which should be applied once a month).
Normal process is use the shampoo bottle - rinse (hose), apply preserver, (rinse with hose) then shammy.
I forgot to rinse off after applying the preserver and ended up with a chalky white coating on the car - yuukh. You need to rinse again before drying with leather.
PS. Just a reminder, when shampooing, if you clean the wheels with it, it really does get the alloys clean.
