From Rod F -
Can you please post the below information re: probs i've had with my 206cc.
I would be great to hear from anyone who knows them inside out and back to
front to get some feedback on the issue:
Well what's happening is, right...
as you're slowing down, and slowing down, without changing gears, the
drivetrain/gearbox is making this funny noise, as if the clutch has shit
itself (i remember i had an old gemini once, that made a very similar noise,
and it needed a new clutch)
Once you start to accelerate again, the noise goes. But it only does it
when a) the clutch/engine is hot and b) when you're slowing down. Its quite
loud. you can hear it with the music on, and also a friend wanted to take
it for a spin, and i was watching him when he drove away, and it made it
then too.
They said that's its a prob that occurs when some gearshaft or drivetrain
takes on a different angle when there's no accelleration, and this is the
noise that it makes. i was told that they've tested the noise against
206's with only 5 k's on the clock, and it did the same thing. its
apparently a prob that ALL 206's have, regardless of engine size, CC,
whatever body
shape - doesn't matter, and that its not going to cause any wear and tear
and damage.
